Slope, water, and historic district questions
On tight glacial till and sloped lawns, sprinklers often put water down faster than the soil can absorb it. Splitting each run into shorter cycles with a pause between them, and using lower-output heads on the slope, gives the water time to soak in. An irrigation system set up that way wastes less water and keeps the lawn more even.
